It is located 15 kms from the city and 3,500 feet above sea level, at this level there is an excellent panoramic view over Chiang Mai city and Ping valley. The temple is approached on foot by climbing a steep stairway comprising 290 steps called “Naga Stairway”. The less energetic may ascend by a cable-car instead of the stairway.
